Optimization Methods (Metody optymalizacji)
LECTURE Basic definitions. Static and dynamic optimization methods. Objective function, inequality and equality constraints. Linear programming problems. Examples. Canonical forms. Linear programming task solutions - graphic method, direct method and simplex method. Nonlinear programming task without constraints. Necessary and sufficient conditions for extreme value existing of many-variable functions. Nonlinear programming task with equality constraints. Lagrange multipliers method. Nonlinear programming task with inequality constraints. Numerical methods of static optimization. Random and determined, gradient and non-gradient methods. Method of steepest ascent and its application in electrical engineering. Standard informatics tools (available for example in Excel and Matlab) applied to solve static optimization problems. Examples of applications. TUTORIALS Application of optimization methods introduced in the lecture. LABORATORY Students solve linear and nonlinear static optimization problems with and without constraints. They use standard optimization tools which are available for example in Excel and Matlab.
